Allows Attackers To Read Any File On Vulnerable System
A security flaw in several versions of Sun's Solaris operating system can
allow a remote attacker to read any file on a vulnerable machine.
The flaw affects Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6, 7, 8, and 9 running on both Sparc and
Intel computers, according to an advisory issued Wednesday by Entercept Security
Technologies.
The vulnerability resides in the Kodak Color Management System library
service daemon, which is a framework for developing color-management systems.
Sun planned to release a patch for the vulnerability on Wednesday.
The Computer Emergency Response Team/Coordination Center (CERT/CC) at
Carnegie Mellon University issued an advisory on the flaw.
