Anti-Terror
Anonymous writes "In retalliation of the recent introduction of spyware, keyloggers and an EULA that is illegal in many areas, a group of crackers is rumored to have stripped all of these bigbrother features out of the software package known as IncrediMail.

Several groups worked on various aspects of this project. This suggests that groups are coordinating efforts. They are pooling resources.
They are organized.

This endevour is being hailed on some sites as the thinking peoples responce to business and goverment intrusion into everyones personal freedom and privacy.

The rebundled IncrediMail has been seen circulating on several warez sites since around 8am today.

I have personally scanned the modified program and it checks clean of any known parasites, virii, trojans and loggers.

Further, it includes a nice and easy to read tutorial of how to install the software and upgrades that register the program as well as remove all the threats.

I have mixed feelings on this subject.
I chalk it up to the old addage of fighting fire with fire.
Sure, the crackers will be viewed by many as evil hackers who jeapordize the sales of a product and must be brought to justice;
But ask yourself, will the company that created this software or the goverment that knowingly allowed them to sell it with all the spy software in it, be brought to justice?

I am a patriot as much as the next person, but I will also do anything to protect my personal beliefs and freedoms, even if it includes hailing those criminals who would bring the good guys to their knees.

In the end, it really wont be a matter of who's right or who's wrong. The battlefield it too grey, and both sides are as justified and to blame.
In the end, the only thing that will but an end to this sort of information war, will be the decision to keep no more secrets.

Of course, I expect a plethera of opinions in this matter. As I can see a multitude of possabilites in responces ;)

Kool.
Who ever they are...
I hope they do more to help out.
IE would be a great start, but I wonder if enough code would remain to call it a program?

As the goverment will never stop itself, and thus business will get away with the same, I feel it is up to the public to stand up for itself.

Had a friend not pointed me to this site, I would have never known I was being violated by this program.

I paid for an e-mail program.
I didn't sell my rights to privacy.

I have downloaded the hacked version.
Not only does it work well, it seems faster.

I will continue to use IM.
It is a great program.
I will use my PAID liscense.
I will NOT subscribe to corporate information piracy.

I wonder, do enough people know about this, and, is their perhaps a legal route to persue here?
I know little to nothing about the law.
I live in NC.
