Privacy Tools 2004 (write your own review) has been getting a lot of attention in the community lately. Spyware Warrior has a long thread about it here in their forums where ash1ey, who represents the product, has been preaching to release spyware programs to further his own income. There seems to be an association with a Scriptlance project for ash1ey that asks for folks to write good reviews for a Download.com review. Is it perchance this poor review?
Suzi talks about Ash1ey and his threats to distribute spyware. The Download review sums it up nicely: "However, the trial version doesn't remove the adware it finds, making it impossible to evaluate the program's power and otherwise limiting its usefulness. All told, we'd point most users to a more capable and less restrictive adware-removal tool."
Privacy Tools 2004 from all the information gathered on the Internet simply means that other programs exist which offer better value for the money (aka: get a free one that really works).
TeMerc posted some excerpts about this whole fiasco in our Spyware Tools forum.
