Logicalis Unveil 3 New Solutions Practice Managers |

13 October 2004 - Logicalis, the assured application infrastructure provider, today announces the formation of three specialist Practices and Practice Managers. The Practices cover the core areas of IP Communications, Security and Storage and are available for consultation to customers and prospects as they endeavour to build more complex, secure and compliant network infrastructures, necessary for today’s more extended and scrutinised enterprise.
Teams of technical experts and business analysts support the three Practice Managers. Each is an expert in their dedicated field and skilled in business consultation, enabling them to deliver benefit driven solutions to both the public and private sectors.
Tom Kelly, Managing Director of Logicalis, commented. ‘Convergence is no longer just IP but a mixing pot of technologies, solutions and business processes converging into one infrastructure. Multimedia IP services and core business applications, accessible now to third-party business partners and suppliers, are integrated with security and storage policies. Furthermore, the changing ‘work styles’ of business has seen the office, home and remote working devices and applications merge as one.’
‘By creating these Practice Manager roles and offering customers specialist consultations we aim to help organisations understand these dynamics, and build reliable, credible networks which have as their foundation the core disciplines of IP Communications, Security and Storage. We call this – Assured Application Infrastructure.’
Mike Cummins, IP Communications Practice Manager at Logicalis, explained the role further. ‘Our responsibility is to deliver solutions to customer problems by engaging them at the business process or service delivery point and marrying the technology to those issues. We’re not in the ‘product or technology retrofit business’ but, through initial and ongoing consultations, we aim to build an intimate knowledge of our customers business or service and work with them to deliver the best and most intelligent infrastructures upon which their business can depend.’
An early example of the value of the Practice Model that has offered clear return on investment and ongoing value is with Canada Life, a Financial Services Provider.
Added Cummins. ‘Not only have we helped them seamlessly integrate the telephony and data solutions of a newly acquired company, we’re adding money to the bottom line by addressing the huge issue of operational expenses. By working in harmony with them we’ve nearly eradicated the additional support costs of a newly acquired business unit through the installation of an IP Telephony system which can be maintained and administered remotely – from 150 miles away. Not only this, we have worked even closer with them to make sure the integration of the new system and adoption by users was problem free and fruitful. This has been achieved because the Practice Manager Model allows us to look at the whole life cycle of the project, including user concerns, market conditions, compliancy and lifestyle trends.’
