AVIRA presents new version of Unix antivirus products |
|
|

avira writes "AVIRA releases today its latest version of Unix-dedicated antivirus solutions. This security suite covers all product families, ranging from desktop solutions to file servers, mail servers and proxy servers.Continuing the series of releases open by the
recent Windows products version, the current launch displays a very
useful set of new features, especially designed to take Unix protection
one step further.
The Unix antivirus suite highlights advanced malware
detection, included in the AVIRA engine and available for all AVIRA
products, under any platform and operating system. Aside from the
detection options included so far - Games, Jokes, Dialer, Backdoors,
the Unix antivirus solutions are now able to detect more cyber threats:
adware & spyware programs, unusual runtime compression tools and
double extension files.
AVIRA MailGate and AVIRA for Sendmail-Milter
come with a brand new attachment filter, adding to the already
implemented filtering methods (based on sender/receiver's IP, host and
domain). It is common knowledge that many e-mail malware threats come
in files with specific extensions. With this new filter, AVIRA users
will be able to define a set of particular extensions in order to block
certain types of e-mail attachments, including either plain files or
packed in archives.
AVIRA WebGate
also presents a new important feature, meant to boost the system's
security level. As of now, this solution is able to run in a
non-privileged user mode. This way, the system will stay protected
against certain attacks that might exploit a root's full privileges in
order to gain control over the system.
Currently, the AVIRA solutions can be downloaded for evaluation from our global website. We would like to take this opportunity and invite you to try our new-released evaluation kits, available for a trial period of 30 days after installation.
You may also purchase your solution of choice from our online store or directly from AVIRA GmbH or through its recommended partners.
