Depends on which browser you're using. In Internet Explorer v.6.1, open Internet Options in the Control Panel.
Click the Privacy tab, then the Advanced button.
Enter these in the Address of Web site window, then click the Block button after inputting each one :

http://2o7.net
http://atdmt.com
http://doubleclick.net
http://lmrworldwide.com

Click OK, click OK again.

I'm not sure which browser/OS combination you are running, but within an Internet Explorer 6 window, you can click TOOLS -> INTERNET OPTIONS -> PRIVACY -> SITES . Then under the caption Address of web site , enter 2o7.net and then click Block to disable all cookies from 2o7.net - repeating these steps for the other cookies you wish to block permanently.

The cookie issue in IE6 is a bit complicated. Eric Howes has written a number of articles concerning cookies, and a good, though dated, reference is:

https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/ie6-p3p.htm

A permission-based method along with a special XML import file works well. Make a file PRIVACY.XML out of the following 10 lines and then import it using the Import button in the above Privacy window:

<MSIEPrivacy>
<MSIEPrivacySettings formatVersion=6>
<p3pCookiePolicy zone=internet>
<firstParty noPolicyDefault=reject noRuleDefault=reject alwaysAllowSession=no>
</firstParty>
<thirdParty noPolicyDefault=reject noRuleDefault=reject alwaysAllowSession=no>
</thirdParty>
</p3pCookiePolicy>
</MSIEPrivacySettings>
</MSIEPrivacy>

Granted permissions override the reject options (the Allow tab instead of Block when entering URLs as described above). E.g., mcafee.com -> Allow. This enables subscription-based and other special-needs sites to use cookies despite the unwelcome mat provided by the XML file. Over the months, I have granted cookies to 41 sites, with 67 total cookies, and spend zero time worrying about them.

John

Using Windows XP/SP2, IE6/SP2, fully patched.
