Security - Personnel is the biggest danger |

f6cvalkyrie writes "On behalf of McAfee, ICM Research investigated european companies on their IT security.
It appeared that personnel showed a high degree of unawareness, coupled with a certain level of incompetence.
24% of the interrogated persons said using their laptop to surf the web at home. 21% of them even allows friends and relatives to surf on their job laptop.
10% admits that they download non job related stuff, and 62 % indicates to have very limited knowledge about computer security. Many of them do not even know how to keep their antivirus software up-to-date.
Mike Dalton from McAfee Europe states that companies will have to strengthen their efforts to make their workforce conscient about responsible use of company IT means, and that technical solutions will have to be implemented to avoid infection by external apparatus such as USB sticks and laptops.
