After a long and protracted distributed denial of service against www.gmer.net which caused the whitehat community to rally in support against the blackhats, gmer is finally online and available for business thanks to the graces of Paul Vixie and Internet Systems Consortium.
gmer's tool finds rootkits on peoples computers. The bad guys hate this. The DDoS seemed to have grown starting around 50,000 connections to yesterday at around 250,000 connections. With ISC's help, gmer.net will be able to operate and serve the public in its altruistic cause.
