!RuyLopez writes "Team CastleCops is the scientific research and science education component of the CastleCops community.
Team CastleCops gives individuals the opportunity to contribute directly to various ongoing scientific research projects through a distributed, or cooperative computing scenario in which many individuals voluntarily donate the idle times on their computers to calculate small portions of a large, overall solution. The science is the real thing--research projects established and pursued by reputable researchers at reputable institutions. All supported projects are non-profit endeavors that publish their results in the open literature and that are financially supported by highly reputable funding agencies such as the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
Concomitantly, Team CastleCops provides the opportunity for our members and visitors to learn more about the science itself thus enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the individual research projects, science in general, and the arduous process by which new knowledge is discovered. Objective and substantive discussions are strongly encouraged.
The Team CastleCops Advisory Committee has been established to provide the strategic leadership and oversight that will ensure that Team CastleCops has a vibrant future and attains the level of professional excellence that characterizes the other activities here at CastleCops.
The Committee is comprised of Head, Science Advisor, and Chief Host. The appointment of a Campaign Director is anticipated in the future. The missions of the Committee include overall vision and advocacy for Team CastleCops as well as responsibility for interactions with the external community on behalf of Team CastleCops.
As with any successful renovation, sound and thorough planning comes before actual construction begins.
