I've decided as a future computer engineer that i wanna start using Linux...just to force myself to start aquiring new information about other OS's and such. I am fairly proficient in DOS, Win 95, 95, XP, and MAC OSX. I think I have decided to go with SUSE but I'm open to opinions. I do want a good desktop similar to XP. I don't want to have to command line everything, which SUSE seems to have a good desktop with many new features. I'm planning on purchasing an external HD on which to install Linux so that I can keep XP on my laptop and have the option of which OS to boot to. Any suggestions would be helpful as to what I would need to accomplish this with an ext. HD as well as suggestions about different distributions. Thanks
