I cant get away from this rip off antivirus program!
I will be browsing, and the screen contracts down to this dialog box with the normal spiel about "your system is infected ext.
If you try to close the box, it pops up with and this is cute, "hit ok to secure your computer, and cancel to stay on this page."
the only way I can kill it is to terminate the process of Firefox3 in the process manager.
Avira Anti-vir does not find anything downloaded on my system.
the same for super anti-spyware and malewarebytes anti-malware.
Kaspersky on line scanner says no detection.
But something has to be causeing it to keep poping up.
I run sandboxie most of the time, but with firefox3 the history from the sandboxed session is visable on the next session,so i really dont know if its working>
Is anyone familar with this piece of Sh-t?
What can I do? Any help would be great.
thanks

Hello and welcome Smile

Please read here:
CastleCops Link/t146923-Waiting_for_Help_1_Patience_2_Use_the_MRP_Procedure.html

Also read the announcement How to be ready, both are in Trend HijackThis forum.

Someone will then be able to see wha is causing the problem and get you fixed up.

The best thing to do is to follow this http://wiki.castlecops.com/MRP

After following the link above if you think you're still infected with malware please post a Hijackthis log in this forum.

I also suggest you install Windows Defender (if you use Windows XP), which is free and is available from http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
