I'll keep this VERY simple...
I have a Blackjack, and a Sony Vaio with Vista Business...
I took the whole kaboodle to Circuit City, which sold me the Vaio and to Cingular who sold me the Blackjack...
NEITHER could get the Vista to interact with the Blackjack. The Vista could "see" the Blackjack for a fraction of a second, but not "hook up to it"..
Turns out this is a "known problem"... there is even your..."usual" patch from Microsith, with a patch for THAT patch.... called very nicely.... GUK
On the "repair" forii, the tech showed me....there are HUNDREDS of posts about this problem concerning Sony, Toshiba, HP...laptops...
Those folks spent, combined, three hours trying to get this to work. They also tried it with an HP laptop and a Toshiba laptop....none of them worked..
This is 8 months after I bought the machine... and it is not the Blackjack's fault....
want to know why we know?
While at Circuit City, I had taken my Toshiba lappy that I put Klikit on, on a clean HD, because I was also going to buy a Bluetooth dongle for it.
popped it into the machine....and "Linux" bluetooth....found the Blackjack in about... ten seconds...and the tech pushed a picture to it...
Wouldn't sync the phone because I hadn't set up an account in Thunderbird yet...but that is tomorrow...

I'd kinda keep an eye out for a "stable release" in a short while.
I think it'll be a keeper.

Thanks for the heads up - I have a Samsung u740 that is a PITA right now (thanks in part to Verizon) so that I cannot copy ring tones photos / other media to / from it unless I use a specialized service.
However, BitPIM in Windows does a fantastic job of making the connection. Now it is a matter of making the phone do as I want it to.
Sounds like I need to get Klikkit and see how well it works with my dongle and phone.... _________________ <img src="http://www.castlecops.com/zx/johnlgalt/johnlgalt%20sig.png">

Klikit bluetooth works for me too, I now use it as my main O/S here even though it is only yet still in beta
I have a seperate USB edimax bluetooth adaptor for my system which takes ages to install and load under windows and is a PITA to use. Under klikit it plugs and works, simple, no hastle, straight in connecting my phone and other family members phones and effortless transfers to and fro. _________________ Patience is a Virtue
