Helping a friend has a system with 98 SE that blew it's config. I know there is a way to boot from last known good config but he has booted a couple of times since then. IE no longer works, Outlooks no longer works but it does boot to desktop and other 3rd party stuff runs fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks![/i]

It's not clear what you mean by "blew its config".

If your problems are only with IE and Outlook then you might wish to repair/reinstall only those programs.

Your IE problem you might be able to fix by repairing IE under add/remove programs or reinstall.

Outlook you can reinstall.

If you have global problems you can try to restore a backup copy of the registry:

You can run system file checker (see the Windows Help file).
