Hello

I've been on ZA for many many years. I used to game letting only the game I was playing through the lock (little key icon in the program control pane) on older versions of ZA.

Letting by only the needed programs access the net in this manner was for me a very "safe" way of playing... and I was experiencing much less Smile

ZA free dropped this feature in 2006 or so, I miss it badly although I still have a downloaded version of ZA on back-up... from back then.

Is there any other recommendable and free firewall with this feature? Or, should I just re-install this older version and keep on gaming with the lock on?

I have a DI-604 router, I run XP 32 bits and I'm on cable.

Thanks a lot

Cue

Sounds like you are describing ZA's pass lock feature.

I believe all two-way software firewalls have a "lock" feature.
ZA's pass lock enables you to allow designated programs to by-pass the lock. According to the ZA web site, the Pro version still has that feature.

I just don't know wich one to try/trust from Castlecops download menu/firewalls. I was going to try Kerio, but... it isn't Kerio anymore Confused

Merci
