Bill,
Thanks for the link. I knew there was something wrong in the analysis that I had been developing about SSDs, as it makes obvious sense that the access times *should* be much much faster. My research stated otherwise, but obviously someone doesn't know what they are doing - I took a much longer look at the drives from NewEgg, and going to their respective manufacturer's pages I saw that indeed access times were in the decimal milliseconds.
Glad you were alert to my faux pas. _________________

Ut oh - have I just been volunteered without my consent? lol
So, as Ikeb tried to do - getting back on topic - Paul, will the donations garnered go for both servers using the SAS drives, and if you go RAID 10, from what it looked like in the pictures, will each server have a hot swappable spare ready and waiting? _________________

You just haven't spent enough time looking at them IKE.
The combination of SSD's and HDD in a system is the best way to currently use them,
make the boot partitions on the SSD's and some of the most necessary data and programs and they will perform beyond your expectation.
And with Niraj, it is all academic, as he is still in school and learning.
But he is a prolific poster. _________________ I wish you all the best and nothing less.

Right now, both servers will have six actives and one cold spare. Four in a raid10, and two in a raid1.
