On Fri Sep 21, 2007 I posted this ...
Why do you think Sunbelt is selling off SPF at such a low price ?
They are trying to make as much money as possible before dropping the product, stringing everybody along with useless 'updates' for as long as they can. I have wasted my money, my subscription (full price) is until Feb 2008 but I have removed SPF from my system & use something else. I just don't trust security software that is almost 2 years old.
3 mths later & I still believe it to be true. Is spite of the postings by a couple of Sunbelt people assuring us that all is well.

With SKPFW you wan't be able to get unlogged from windows account, or to restart/shutdown your machine unless you
do SKPFW shutdown before these operations.
I have this behaviour for longer then a year. Reported to Sunbelt as well.
But they didn't do anything to fix it.

No problems at all doing those things here with SPF active.
Just a guess, but do you have Fast User Switching enabled? _________________

I have never investigated this with the SPF HIPS, but have experienced similar problems with other HIPS applications and FU switching. You might try disabling the HIPS module temporarily and seeing if that returns things to normal. _________________

I'm running Sunbelt Kerio free version.
So the HIPS is disabled on default.
And there is no chance to get it activated.

Other than being convinced that the problem is related to fast user switching I don't have any other ideas. I use SPF but also use Advanced File Sharing so can't enable FUS for testing. _________________

FUS disabled - no help. Same issue with Sunbelt Kerio PFW.
It's time to say good bye Sunbelt !
I'm using Advanced File Sharing as well and have no
problems to have FUS enabled.

Do you get a message when trying to logoff/shutdown/reboot without first shutting SKPF off first? Does it just silently fail to logoff/shutdown/reboot? Is anything logged in your Windows event viewer? (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer)
I admit, out of all the various problems I've run across over various versions over the years, I've never seen this problem.
Though it may be unrelated, I've also never had FUS on any of my machines, either.
What version of SKPFW and Windows are you running?

This logoff/shutdown without first shutting down SKPF problem has been around for one or two years & has been covered in many other threads.
There has been NO fix in any of the "updates" .

This may be true for some users, but it is not true for everyone.
I have searched for threads pertaining to this problem, but haven't found any that give any good information on the problem + the user's setup. If you could post the URLs to some of these "many other threads", I'd appreciate it.
Specifically, I'm interested in people who are experiencing this problem answering these questions:
Do you get a message when trying to logoff/shutdown/reboot without first shutting SKPF off first?
Does it just silently fail to logoff/shutdown/reboot?
Is anything logged in your Windows event viewer? (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer)
