HOW GREAT THOU ART
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Dude, this is funny... No offense, but don't you rather mean "treble"? What do you mean, "soprano"? Nobody can sing that high. _________________ "For men become civilized, not in proportion to their willingness to believe, but in their readiness to doubt."

Anyone can sing in "treble" but some I wouldn't want to hear sing at all!
Yes, people sing in "treble" & "bass". The treble cleft & bass cleft have more to do with musical instruments & played in different octaves, then you have your "sharps", "flats", exemplia gatia.
One of my all time fave Piano waltzes is Chopin's Walts in C#minor Opus 64 #2. I love the stoccatto I'd really love to hear someone put words to that & try to sing it.
Could they do it in Alto, Baritone, Tenor, Soprano, etc. The one note that is the most difficult & I think there are only a couple of people in the world who can hit a high a note as "Falsetto"
I think Charlotte Church & an Opera singer or two have hit a "Falsetto", but can't hold the note for more that a second or two.
It's all about the music man. I studied piano. I play guitar a bit and I can play Harp, as it is almost like playing a piano
Anyhow, men/women CAN sing soprano, especially young boys before their voice changes to more alto, baritone, tenor, etc. Actually I've heard grown men/women sing Soprano, as they hadn't lost that ability after voice changes, but again, not many can go from baritone to a soprano not & can't hold it very long at all. Most women sing Soprano. Again, just listen to Charlotte Church. One of my faves. Maria Callas, etc.
Our music lesson of the day!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all!
It's been a while since I've posted and I wanted to say hi to everyone and wish you all peace and joy in this new year.
I'm doing great, had a wonderful break over Christmas, went to the mountains, hiking, eating good food, beautiful scenery.
I'm still enjoying practicing Buddhism and Christianity.
Love to you all!

I fondly remember Christmas in New York. OK, cold and probably snow on the ground. But the decorations, the spirit. Fifth Avenue and all the department store windows. The Promenade (Rockefeller Center--between Fifth Avenue and the skating rink), the gigantic tree. People selling roasted chestnuts which sit on a tray supported by a baby carriage frame, wheels on of course. The gigantic, intricate ball hanging over the intersection of Fifth and 57th. The hansom cab rides from the entrance to Central Park opposite the Pierre at Central Park South and Fifth, with your honey.
And I fondly live through Christmas in San Diego. Watching the surfers at one of the beaches. And fondly remembering.
So nice to have fond memories and warm weather. _________________ The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.
