Hi guys,

I've happily been using B9 since ... forever. Love it. Does what it needs to well and for the most part, causes no headaches.

It's hard not to notice that the product has not been updated for years. Some suggest there is no need because it works as designed perfectly well.

Over time the environment (human behaviour and IT) changes and software needs to adapt to continue to be relevant. B9 deals only with POP3 (so far as I'm aware). However, my UNI emails use IMAP and so too does Hotmail (nothing new there). UNI emails are notoriously full of spam / scammers / phishing fiends and other nasties. These days it's almost impossible to survive at UNI without accessing your emails from home. Sure you can use a browser (as with Hotmail) and like Hotmail, you can configure your email client to download IMAP account emails to your PC.

And there lies the problem.

I purchased B9 to clean out the crap before it gets to me. But I have to bypass this excellent product to access emails that are arguably more of a threat than garden variety emails in my home account.

I'd prefer not to add another layer of software into the process and stay with B9.

Please, look at the product and give it a serious make-over. I'm more than happy to pay for the upgrade (same applies to all Firetrust products I own) and will particpate in any beta testing program to help you do this. Firetrust needs a steady income stream to survive and I need your products to stay happy and sane. OK - I'm overstating my case but you get the idea.

It really is an excellent product but it's not keeping pace with real world developments. A good update might give the old cash-cow another life and open up huge numbers of new customers.

Pretty please Smile))

Agreed 100%! I'm not sure why existing bugs haven't been fixed (there are problems) nor why further features haven't been developed. The only rational explanation I can think of is that there's not enough revenue to justify further development. Sad

Some time ago I'd suggested that MWP and B9 be combined into a more-capable proxy version of MWP. Such a product could be sold at a premium and existing licensed customers could be enticed with a discount for upgrading. So far there's been little reaction from FireTrust since all development is focused toward incremental MWP improvements and SiteHound upgrades.
