Hi ekrubtap,
| Quote: | | Actually, David, I've been around for a few. |
I think I kinda new that because you're a Major, but the U-name & pic er um Avatar threw me off there for a while.
Sorry 'bout that. Me gets a tad con-fus-ed sometimes. BTW, You're not a bad looking man, not that I'm comming on to you or anything like that!
I mean if a girl can call her friend beautiful & her girfriend, but are only friends. Why can't a guy(s) do the same? I guess many dudes are into this Lesbianism thing, but are Homophobic to the extreme, although they hang out mostly with thier best friend, who happens to be nice looking, et al. Then they usually leave together to go back to one or the other's place to drink beer & t*ke up!
Sometimes I wonder. I ponder certain issues quite a bit these days.
Anyhow, Take Good Care. I'm feeling pretty good, but still have my days when I require mega rest. Also, I hope Mississippi Mud sticks around for a while? I always liked what he had to say regarding religion. I also miss E & ZZ as well, but I don't think they'll be back, IMHO.
Peace! _________________ Warm Regards,

Actually, David, I've been around for a few.
Ek's take on Religious Humour
Mother Teresa Denies God
Bible Oddities
Etc, etc, etc...
And I kinda miss En and ZZ. We had some good exchanges; locked horns more often than not , but I like a person who has the courage of their convictions, even though I find the convictions a little exasperating at times, but that's a two way street, also. |
Hi Pat,
I really like some of those older threads, especially the religious humour one! I gotta go back & read the other ones too (i'm busy, busy, busy working right now.)
& I miss EuGenie & ZZ too. I did think about the things they said. & some of the things were completely "foreign" to me. I found that to be a little strange (the interpretation parts.)
& I miss Felix too. & of course I miss Q.
g-bye.
luv & peace,
Jo

Hey David. Feel free to wink and nudge. I count gays, bi's, lesbians, and transgenders among my friends and aquaintances. Been to the clubs and danced with the boys on a dare. But, alas, I seem to be unremittingly hetero. (not that there's anything wrong with that )
Jo; vive le wacky.
| And you wrote: | | I found that to be a little strange (the interpretation parts.) |
The bible (and accompanying dogma) has been interpreted seven ways to Sunday throughout the ages. The ink was barely dry on the paper before the metamorphous began. No consensus has ever been reached on "correct" interpretation or even from which direction to approach it.
Between the interpretations, reinterpretations (complete with changes to wording), repeated rewriting, additions and subtractions, lack of cohesion in content, attempts to incorporate Aristotlian philosophy, constant attempts to relate to "the times", plagerism, adaptation of OT to NT requirements, etc, etc., well, is it any wonder the bible is such a hodgepodge of self contradiction and meaninglessness.
Though it does have some good tales of epic mythical proportion.

Well Pat,

I always deemed MANY parts of the O.T. & N.T. as "The Lying Pen of Scribes". (Especially Genisis, Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy...Do I have to name every book of the Bible Including the tribes, y'da?
Take Care my Friend, Pat!
I feel better & better everyday! Living with Full Blown AIDS isn't very fun, but life is what you make it & I choose Fun, Fun, Fun 'til Big Daddy takes my speedboat away!
Everyone here in my rather small minded city knows. I don't hide it, because people find out sooner or later. Then the gossip spreads.
Also that's how I found out who my REAL friends were
Oh well, such is life. I have many Straight & Gay friends & where I'm the "Poster Boy" for HIV/AIDS, nobody will touch me (as in try to beat me, y'da) Plus many of my STR8 friends are big guys one doesn't want to fool around with.
A few people have been warned by a the "Biker Tribes" not to even come near if they wanna try & beat me or poop like that
Peace! _________________ Warm Regards,

I drop in from time to time to read the threads. Usually on Friday night (sabbath). I didn't leave because I was upset, mad, depressed, or any other negative except tired. My purpose here was always to explain my religious positions. I have never pressured nor expected anyone to accept my positions and I have already said my piece on what has been posted lately, at least the stuff worth commenting upon. This group has seen it all before. If you didn't understand it the third or forth time, why should I say it all again? I don't have much time AND I don't see anything new to respond to. In short, the lack of content and the blatant ZZ bashing that is going on, give me no reason to be here.
I miss my friends... but not enough to argue with you over the same old things again and again. And, honestly, if any of you are going to bash me, you should have done it to my face, not when you think I'm not around.

I hear ya Zip, The redundancy does get old. Seems this forum is either a slugfest or a hug fest. Either way its rinse and repeat _________________ we have to get control of our minds back. the lives we live are illusory manifestations of the imagination of ourselves.

Hi ZZ,

Hi ZZ, it's nice to see your "Homer Simpson" head again
You are right. There are times I get so confused, especially when I just got outta Palliative Care! I was a bit loopy there, but I've made my appologies & you told me you understood.
It seems like a lot of people miss you ZippyZingo (I knew of ZZ when we were both 1st Responders together in '83 +
BUT what do they want? I found people rather harsh on you & enegue We never exchanged much except to a couple of issues that we come to agree on years ago.
At first it might be O.K. but when you say your Religious Beliefs, and you know I don't trammple on (or try not to ) trammple on other's Religions & Religious beliefs.
Think of yourself too ZZ, when the "Mud Slinging" begins. It comes out full force most times. You know that ZZ?
IMHO, it just upsets you, E & your Religious Beliefs. Shoot, one could post thier beliefs over & over & maye hundreds will look at it, but only a couple will respond!
Look at poor Toto (B11NgO). He tals to himself about what HE feels about God & Our Lord Jesus Christ. "Staunch Fundamentalist)...I say SO WHAT! If that's who B11NgO, let him be, but now he has that Lucy avatar from "Peanuts" & newer people mistake him as a woman.
I love B11NgO, but I don't think he realizes that. There's another sortta like me & we're BOTH way out there somewhere is JoAnnCQ & David (Me). It would be nice if he could explain some of his writings. He should put a brief, more Biblical summary beside some of the stuff he writes, because NUTTY 'ol David is infatuated in people's "Belief System". Just a little idiosyncrasy I have...Oh well!
His writings are hard to comprehend at times, but he does get responses.
God Bless ZZ

Hi There (to ZZ especially)
I always read your posts ZZ, & for me, they were sometimes completely novel ideas or concepts. I had never met too many fundamentalist Xtians & the ideas scrawled all over the InterNet give fundamentalists a really bad name, I think. Your interpretations, while I can't say I agree with all of them, were very well presented. There were times tho, when I felt that You & EuGenie "ganged up on others" & acted like "bullies" by using tactics that You didn't really need to resort to.
"Different strokes for different folks."
Love & Peace,
JoAnn

Same ol', same ol', boys?? Has religion changed that much lately? Tired of the same old? Inject some of your "new".
Tired of having your religious convictions ridiculed? You who boast of martyrs and saints, inheritors of great religious battles and missionaries who ventured to the deepest darkest ends of the planet....when the going gets tough, the Rev. Milquetoasts get gone. The lions are having a quiet chuckle at your expense. _________________ If evolution is outlawed, only outlaws will evolve

Do you know why I think the return of Jesus will be before august '09?
Because his prediction, the Weinstein guy.
His prediction leaves room for folly.
If they leave room for folly, there must be a grain of truth in it.
For sure the world still thinks it'all fun and games and it's the cat's meow, so that just leaves Jesus to perform.
Saints can do nothing since the world is in the way.
So, there you go. Leave room for stupidity and the dropping will hit the fan. _________________ To the Women of Golgotha. Beware of Batman.

If you read the Third Book of b11ng00. You see I talk about how Sin acts.
What I'm seeing is if there will be something, it willl be before august 2009.
And what will happen is the great circumcision.
Like a pendulum, there is folly on one side, and a cutting edge on the other.
And unlike the other historical events that had different pendulum qualities,
this is the great swing of the pendulum.
So unfortunately, there will be a great folly.
The greatest folly. _________________ To the Women of Golgotha. Beware of Batman.

17 Apr 2008 ... For the third day in a row, the pope brought up the sexual-abuse crisis
This of course has to do with Circumcision.
As discussed in the third book of b11ng00.
I believe something bad will happen.
Unless we are all being taken in a trick.
And I'm not trying to trick anybody. _________________ To the Women of Golgotha. Beware of Batman.
