Hi, my Western Digital external hard drive is not being seen by my laptop running off Vista. Tried device manager, disk management etc....nothing. Any thoughts?

Check your cables/connections.

Try connecting the drive directly (remove any extension cables) to another port that you know works.

Make sure that the drive is compatible with Vista.

Check device manager for errors.
