that McAfee VirusScan app might be blocking WD as it consider itself sufficient in protecting the comp. Can you check in add/remove progs for entries mentioning Java as you might be running a very vulnerable version

Check McAfee logs in case it block other apps you mentioned originally

do you have another AV of similar quality to replace it? Check the McAfee logs first to see if it is blocking itunes

So, i have no idea what is going on. buti uninstalled Mcaffee. and followed the instructions to uninstall and reinstall windows defender. and this is the msg im getting.
