This topic is meant for updates to filters in the config pack.
I shall start this off with an updated Google Ad Block removal filter. The "Sponsored Links" ad block started getting by Proxomitron a few weeks ago; this filter will remove it once again (please disable the existing filter after importing the updated filter):
| Code: | [Patterns]
Name = "Google Search: Remove Ad Blocks 7.08.08 (multi) [sd jd] (d.s) [unoff]"
Active = TRUE
Multi = TRUE
URL = "$TYPE(htm)(www.google|64.233.1[#60:91]|66.(102.[#0:15]|249.[#64:95])|72.14.[#192:255]|216.239.[#32:63])."
Limit = 32704
Match = "<("
""
"(table[^>]++(width=30%$SET(#=width.)|height=40$SET(#=height.))|!-- Strip Me -->$SET(#=strip.))"
"(*</table >(^ [^<]| <table)|*(????????)\2(^?)$SET(0= <!-- Strip Me -->\2))"
""
"|div("
" style=[^>]+> <font$INEST(<div,*href=$AV(/history\?*)$SET(#=history-d.)*,</div)</div >"
"|[^>]++id=$AV(tpa[0-9]+)$INEST(<div,</div)</div >$SET(#=ad-div.)"
" (<div[^>]++id=$AV(tpa[0-9]+)$INEST(<div,</div)</div >$SET(#=ad-div.) )+"
")"
"|table ("
"cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0> <tr> <td valign[^>]+>( <font[^>]+>)+{2}([a-z]+ :)\#"
"$INEST(<table,</table)</table >"
"|[^>]+> <tr> <td (^class)[^>]+> <(/td > <td[^<]+<|)(/+font[^<]+<)+a href="
"$AV(/history\?$SET(#=history.)*|*//(tool(bar|s).|checkout.|desktop.|pack.|webaccelerator.)\#google.*)"
"$INEST(<table,</table)</table >( <br*>|)"
"|[^>]++width=$AV(100%) style=$AV(border: 1px solid*)$INEST(<table,</table)</table >$SET(#=custom-ad.)"
")"
"|center> <font"
"$INEST(<center,*//(tool(bar|s).|checkout.|desktop.|pack.|webaccelerator.)\#google.*,</center)"
"</center >( <(br|p)>)+"
"|td rowspan=[#2] > <a\s[^>/]+//(tool(bar|s)|checkout|desktop|pack|webaccelerator)\#.google."
"$INEST(<td,</td)</td > </tr > <tr> $NEST(<td,</td >)$SET(#= td.)"
"|p>( <font[^>]+>)+[^<]+<a\s[^>/]+//(books.)\#google.[^<]+</a >( </font >)+ <br>"
"(^(^<br clear=all>|<table))"
""
")"
Replace = "\r\n<!-- PROX-S: Removed by Google Ad Links Filter (\@) -->\r\n\0"
"$SET(sSpec=$GET(sSpec)\@)" |
If I come across any other "outdated" filters, I will post updates here.
I don't mean to drastically modify Sidki's filters. In the one above, I just needed to change the width percentage from 25% to 30%.

Great, thanks.
Can I ask though Kye, could you be so kind as to spell out what I/we do with your update? eg where / how etc.
Thanks a lot,
Lee

Sure!
Select everything that's in the CODE box, starting from (and including) [Patterns] to the last line.
Right-click and copy the filter to your clipboard.
Open Proxomitron, click on "Edit Web filters"
In Find, type in "google search"
Untick "Google Search: Remove Ad Blocks 7.08.08 (multi) [sd jd] (d.s)"
Right-click on it and then click on "Import filters from clipboard"
Click on "OK"
Save the configuration

Thanks; I think I get it.
So are we replacing what is curently in the filter we unticked? Do we tick it again afterwards to turn it back on? Presumably so.

Now I've tried it, I see how it works.
Thanks for the accurate instructions.

Thanks for the update and easy to follow instructions. We old folks appreciate the help in keeping our systems running smooth, clean, and ad free.
