MW Pro doesn't consistantly display the date and time
stamp correctly.

Header error example:

Date: Wed, 21 May 03 15:42:14 GMT

Yields a display of:

"Wed, 21 May 03 15:42:14 GMT"

In contrast, a header good example:

Date: Wed, 21 May 2003 00:49:48 -0700 (PDT)

Yields a display of:

21 May 2003, 3:49am

Of course, given the two different display formats,
the column doesn't get sorted correctly.

Can MW Pro be fixed to be able to read both formats
of the Date: header line correctly and consistantly?

This has been reported before and is due to mailservers sending the date in a non-RFC compliant format. It hasn't risen to the top of the bug pile for fixing so I welcome your reporting it again, it's my second biggest frustration right behind no recieved date column...

At least for me, the primary difference, is that this non-compliant date format uses a two digit year instead of a four digit year.

While not at the top of the bug fix list, it should be a rather easy bug to fix.

How much of your spam comes in with bogus date formats? Mine is up to over 50% the last few days! No valid e-mails came in wrong during the same period.

This might be a good thing to add to the spam checking or in your filters....

About 15 to 20% of my email comes through with the "other" date format.
However, some of that is legitimate email.

You got me curious. Just how does one write a MW Pro "filter" which can detect or sort on date formats?

Not sure, I was hoping for a suggestion from some of the filter gurus here...
