On a client's system that has had ongoing problems with CoolwebSearchX we can load Spyware Blaster but get an error when running the program. Error says we have either a disk sector error or a virus. Everything checks Ok with Scandisk and A/V. Have downloaded to a different location and install still runs clean but we get the same error running every time. Spywareblaster is 3.1 and system is W98SE with current updates.

Download CWShredder from http://www.computercops.biz/downloads-file-349.html run it. Select the fix button & it will get rid of everything related to CoolWebSearch. Close ALL other programs & windows, including IE, before running CWShredder.
Reboot

Sorry, but we've run CWshredder many times on this system as our other posts regarding CoolwebsearchX reflect. This system will not stay clean regardless of the steps that we go through with TaskInfo, Shredder, Search & Destroy, etc, etc. CoolwebsearchX always comes back as soon as we run a Send & Receive cycle from Outlook 2000. OL is up to SP3 and the system is W98Se with updates.
Seems the newest Coolwebsearch X is terrible, at least in this case.

We would certainly appreciate any other recommendations as to how to get SpywareBlaster to run though, Ken
