Ok I know this isn't Snort.org but.. out of curiousity. Is anyone else running Snort on win2k virtual NIC?
I use 1.8.6-MySQL-WIN32 (Build 105) love it, like it, addicted.
But here's the thing. I can't seem to run any of the newer compiled binaries. Some features where tweaked/changed/added. Was kinda excited to try em out.

So thought I'd take an informal poll and see if anyone else has experienced this. Though doubt many people are running on virtual NIC but hey who knows?

Yeah that might be a shot in the dark outside of places like snort.org, but at any rate, have you installed everything as per this guide?

ACID/ADODB, etc?

Yeah been using the binaries from siliconedefense and had little trouble through several upgrades. Once I got through the initial install. I did ask at silicone defense but there was little response. In fact Micheal did reply and seemed a little suprised winpcap ran on a dialup at all. Oh well like I said out of curiousity.

I'm tied up with some projects right now... but I'll keep this thread as a reminder in the future when I build another box. Maybe I can fnid time then to test it.
