I came across your site and when I did this scan, it came up saying this:

ESTABLISHED CONNECTION: Possible NETBIOS-SSN / NETBIOS Session Service service found on port 139.

What does that mean? And do I need to do something to correct or close the port?

Thanks

Hi, right now you can visit grc.com for information about that port. Basically, do you have file and print sharing enabled? If so, you'd find the NetBIOS ports open.

Has anyone used Symantec's site for binding NetBIOS? I haven't been able to find it for a while and wondered if they removed it for some reason.

I had the accessed that link once or twice, but not lately. Maybe I should get a similar one online here.

Anything that you add to this site to make it easier for those of us "forever learning" types couldn't hurt. I would love to find that specific site on Symantec again, but it seems to elude me. It was easier than GRC for some, myself included.

If someone I know wants to volunteer their time right now to put up those pages here, I'll give you the access.

Paul said that I can post here as long as I am always kind to women and strange looking orange cats!!! Laughing

Now all we need is for that anonymous person to come forth and creat a web page for this thing and post it on site. Rolling Eyes

If that doesn't happen.. that's OK too. I'll eventually get around to it, but I have to prioritize.

Some times it is really hard to tell the difference between the 2! However, you've been most kind this time, so we'll let it go at that. Smile
