Hi can anyone help. I'm new at Linux.

I just setup Mandrake 8.2 on the gateway machine connected to our ADSL.
We've got a network of about 30 PC's. All PC's on the Windows network can ping the client and modem and gateway address' OK and reveice email through outlook.

But no-one can hit the web. How do I setup the firewall to allow users to get the internet? And what port do they need to connect to the gateway machine from with in Internet Explorer?

Any help would be fantastic.

A simple suggestion to your problem would be to setup ipchain to allow port 80 ( HTTP ) on the main computer. IPchain is a built in firewall for linux and is better than any of these expensive firewalls that are worthless if you ask me Smile

And i suggest you aduit and scan your network to make sure you are safe, firewalls are not always the answer to security. You may check out our website below for more information.

Cheers!
