Uninstall Procedure

If you are experiencing issues with Prevx2.0 and wish to reinstall, please follow the enclosed uninstall procedure.

Firstly: DO NOT MANUALLY DELETE FILES, ESPECIALLY FILES IN THE WINDOWS FOLDER

Secondly: We would like to understand the reasons for uninstalling Prevx2.0 as all feedback will help us to improve the Prevx1 products.

To uninstall, you need to shutdown Prevx2.0 using the System Tray icon menu. Right click this and select Shutdown. This will drop the protection policies from the driver and shutdown the PXAGENT and PXCONSOLE processes.

If the icon is missing in the system tray, then start the console from the Windows START menu and select All Programs - Prevx2.0 - Prevx2.0 to start the Prevx2.0 Console. In the top left window click on the traffic light icon to display the menu and select shutdown.

Once Prevx2.0 is shutdown (check in task manager for PXAGENT and PXCONSOLE do not appear) from the START menu run the "Uninstall Prevx2.0" and follow the instructions. Alternatively in the add/remove programs from the Control Panel click on Prevx2.0 Agent to start the uninstaller.

After the uninstaller has completed then reboot the system.

Only if the above fails to complete

If the normal uninstall fails to complete then you can download the Prexv12leanupTool which will ensure all files have been removed from the system:

This should remove any items that may be left still on your system after a failed uninstall. Always reboot your system after running this tool
