Graphics in the preview pane gives me concerns. At what point then does MW change from a security tool/spam blocker to mail handler? The preview pane is in plain text so that it will circumvent any malicious code. This is exactly why preview panes should never be enabled in the client inbox. If a friend sends me an image, it's getting scanned by my AV before I look at it - period. If anyone else sends one, bit bucket.

IMO, what makes MW stand head and shoulders above all the other spam blockers is its ability to process off the servers - this is a huge advantage MW users have over other users - but in reality, some code (depending on the toggle setting) is downloaded to our machines. The more we see in the preview screen, the more of that advantage we give up.

Another problem with building this feature in is processing delays - it will add bloat to the code and that may delay processing and eat up resources. For those who are still using dial-up, who knows what that will do for them.

While I agree it may be a nice to have feature, MW is a security app first - I am not in favor of any feature that has the potential (now or in the unforeseen future - some badguys are pretty smart) to compromise security.

I've got to go with Bill on this. MWP is NOT intended to be a full service mail client. Adding html and image viewing would have to increase the size of the code thereby extending load and close times.

If we start adding to MWP all the features of a mail client we will also be adding all the problems.

Surely it could be added as an optional module? It could be optional at time of installation and/or only loaded into memory when required.

There is no intention to support viewing HTML or graphics in MailWasher. We can understand some users may want this, but it's not on our list.
