I just installed SKPF 4 on a Win XP Home SP2 Dell. I installed it in "simple" mode to start with. No problems with installation or working right now. I want to look at switching to "advanced" mode to limit outgoing stuff.
I can't figure out how to do that. The manual aludes to it but provides no other directions.
2nd question - Where do you find the software version? There is no "about" option like most software.

There is no switch as such but how SKPF4 is configured. First start by changing your "any other application" rule to ask, ask, ask, ask. This will now prompt you for any new inbound or outbound connections (you may also want to change your existing rules, if you wish to use packet filter rules). You will also want to enable "application behaviour blocking" which can be found under the Intrusions module.

To find out your version, right-click the SKPF4 icon in the system tray and then select "About".
