Has anyone tried AdShield (3.0.9.0) w/IE7? AdShield hasn't been updated in a long time and I was wondering about this before I upgrade IE.

Good question! I, too, would like to know if AS will work with IE7. I had to remove AS after I installed SP2, but now may give it another try with IE7, but only if I hear others say that it is successful. Thanks.

Ok, I tried AS with IE7. It appears to work ok but once again I had to stop using it and switch back to Ad Muncher because of the "getting stuck in a cycle issue with SpywareBlaster". Sorry, but SB is one protection that I will not do without and AM has no issues with SB. Thanks.

I was unable to make it work consistently under Vista and IE7. I kept getting "error reading blocklist" even when just using explorer and not surfing.
Is there another program besides AdMuncher that will work?

I haven't tried it yet, but IE7Pro is becoming very popular and has a ad-blocking feature. It is free and is located here:

By the way, I wonder what happened to AdShield? Such a good program - they ceased development and fall by the wayside.

Thanks. I put IE7Pro on the Vista machine with IE7 and it works as well as or better than Ad-shield. I liked it so well that I removed Ad-shield from my own XP IE6 computer and put IE7Pro on it. It works on IE6 as well, although with some features disabled.
I remember when we had direct access to the Ad-shield developer, Doug Lee and the program was free. It seems he eventually sold the product to another company and that was the beginning of the end. With the lack of support and development, I cannot imagine they are selling many licenses these days.
IE7Pro does a lot more and you cannot beat the price.
Thanks.
