Ok, simply put, this is a tiny proggie that when run can kill off any other program. There is a script for WinTasks which does it, but WT is a big program with alot of bugs. Basically, when running, the POD gives you a small screen with a text box, a "Add" button and a list below it.
Type the name of whatever program you never want to see running again, (virus.exe, trojan.exe,....iexplore.exe...) and hit "add". The program gets added to the list, and never runs again as long as the POD is running. Double clicking or right clicking the name of a program could send an alert out asking if you wish to delete it from the list.
Is this a good idea? If somone likes it, please say so. I have so many ideas I think are great, but probably are not, lol.
Thanx,
Reyak

I think this *might* be useful in an emergency situation, where someone doesn't know immediately to get rid of an infection.
On the other hand it may also be dangerous. It may help hide infections, by someone using above method every time an infection is found. Instead of cleaning it, it would just hide it.

One potential pitfall is those types of malware that comprise more than one program/process - they do this so that if you kill one, the other can launch it again and vice versa; since the task manager doesn't let you kill more than one process simultaneously, infections like this can be difficult to clean by hand.
I'm not sure that a death-list program would fare any better against these; it could end up stuck in an intensive cycle of killing one program and the other repeatedly, as they programs themselves fight back by launching each other - and something like that could end up eating all of the system resources and hanging the system.
It might work if it was tightly integrated with the OS to the extent that it would filter applications before they get as far as being executed, but I also agree with pwillener - this is a suggestion to treat the symptoms, not to cure the disease.
Also... it would not be effective against malwares that spawn copies of themselves with variable filenames.
