I thought I'd start a separate topic to give you info on any personal news of interest. That way if I am away for a while from this forum then you'll hopefully know why instead of just sitting and wondering.
Anyway the reason for this is that I have been selected to direct a short film I've written called "Eve", so I won't have a lot of time to update the filter set for the rest of the year. I'll still drop in to pick up new filters and squash bugs etc but the frequency of updates may decrease. Don't worry, I surf the net every day so I will always be keeping my filterset current even if I don't release as often.
You can get more info about "Eve" from my film company website if interested. The film will have its premiere on December 14th. I hope to eventually release it online in some form as I'm a child of the internet generation and think that the internet will be the primary film distribution vehicle of the future. I also HATE DRM with a passion so expect only clean, unencumbered movies from me I'm hoping in the future to be able to sell my films direct to the public, by giving them what they want free of restriction in exchange for fair recompense. I know exactly how easy it is to download whatever you want for free, yet I also believe that people will respect that I am doing the right thing by not screwing them over and making DVDs etc free of PUOs and other user unfriendly technologies. _________________ Get my current Proxomitron filters and Firefox CSS files here or here.

Well I am still deep in post-production for my film, as well as having just moved house and had various other life changing things go on, so I'm rather busy right now.
I have uploaded a new filterset (20051119) with a couple of small fixes and a bunch of additions to the various lists, from forum posts as well as my own surfing habits.
I'm also watching with interest a couple of the larger filter alterations that some of you are collaborating on here. I haven't tested them locally yet as I don't have the time to troubleshoot an unstable set right now. Once mid-December passes I may have more time and will then try them out and assess them for eventual inclusion into the default set. _________________ Get my current Proxomitron filters and Firefox CSS files here or here.

"Eve" is done!!!
I had the premiere on Tuesday night and it got a very positive reception. What I am planning from here is to upload the full featured DVD online soon as a free download, via BitTorrent (unless somone knows a free FTP server with around 4GB space.... ).
What I'll be looking for once this happens is a few people who can download and then seed the film themselves for a while, to sustain it and allow for a worldwide dissemination.
I'll let you know as soon as I upload so you can grab it. Initially the download will be slow as it'll be just my personal broadband connection serving it at my max outgoing bandwidth of 256k. Persevere and you'll be rewarded with a fifteen minute short scifi film (PAL format) along with a full DVD chock with extra features.
NOw I can FINALLY take a small breather and move on to bigger and better things! _________________ Get my current Proxomitron filters and Firefox CSS files here or here.

It looks like I won't be able to upload the film for free online due to some issues outside my control, though I can give the DVD away as a physical medium.
I can't technically sell the film as I don't own the copyright on it, but what I CAN do is "sell" my autograph and ship it with a "free" DVD plus cost of postage and handling!!
Ah, the fun of copyrights and such things....
Anyway, if people are interested in buying the DVD once I sort out a few more small things then stay tuned to this bloglet and my film website. I'll be uploading the trailer shortly.
Note that the DVD is DRM-free, unencrypted content with no PUO's. I mastered the DVD myself and think that respect for viewers is the only way to play in the 21st century. Hey, I too know just how futile it is to try to prevent people copying films, since I am computer savvy. All I can rely on is that people will appreciate my looking after them and entertaining them, for a fair price in return.
Will update once I get set up to ship them. _________________ Get my current Proxomitron filters and Firefox CSS files here or here.

"Eve" is ready to ship for those who may wish to purchase a copy from my website:
Visceral Psyche Films
I'll be uploading the trailer in the next few days so you can have a sneak preview of the film. The film has a running time of 15 minutes including credits, but the DVD itself contains a host of extras which end up giving you about 1hr 30 min of stuff to watch, plus it'll be autographed by either myself or either of the two lead actors (or all of us for a small increase in cost). See above post for why!
It is DRM free and may be copied freely for personal use. It includes the DVD slipcase and disc label images on the DVD itself to allow for complete replication. It's my belief that people who really enjoy the film will subsequently buy copies to show their appreciation of our hard work and respect for them in not treating them like criminals....
Anyway, if you are interested please take a look!

Sorry for not visiting as much lately, but I have been working behind the scenes to gain funding for screenplay development of my short film into a feature, which has now occurred
Basically, I will be paid to write a feature length screenplay which if good enough will be funded as a feature film for me to direct. If that occurs I aim to have the film completed in early 2007 for cinema release!
You will be able to get more information from my film company website forum as I begin developing it.
UPDATE: The funding I was supposed to get fell through so I am working on getting a new funding investor. _________________ Get my current Proxomitron filters and Firefox CSS files here or here.

You can now grab the trailer for "Eve" from my film website. It's a 5.9MB Quicktime movie on the "our films" page. Enjoy! _________________ Get my current Proxomitron filters and Firefox CSS files here or here.

Am in pre-production for a new short film I'm making, hence my absence from more regular posts.
"Eve" was accepted into its first festival last week and although it didn't win any prizes the audience definitely appreciated it. It has also had a TV showing and is slated for two more TV appearances in the next couple of months.
My plan is to make a trilogy of short films based in the same universe as "Eve" but covering different characters and situations (all robot stories) with a view to using these as showreel pieces to develop a full length theatrical feature film.
Beyond that I continue to work on other films in a sound recording/post capacity and will soon be editing a short film.
Don't forget you can stay more up to date with my film career by visiting my film website:
Visceral Psyche Films
Finally, I took my first foray into acting with a one day shoot last month! I don't expect that it will lead to anything but it was still a lot of fun and I think I have a little bit of acting talent to go with my work behind the camera! _________________ Get my current Proxomitron filters and Firefox CSS files here or here.

Sorry for my extended absence but I've been in post production on part two of my robot trilogy of short films.
Currently the film itself is near final cut but I have no CG effects as the team I had working on them didn't deliver, so until that is completed I will still be away from here for extended periods.
Hopefully you are all still looking after each other and posting solutions as you find them. Once I finish "Birth" I will collate all the fixes and update the set.
Filmmaking is a cruel mistress.... and yet one I have become utterly addicted to
On the off chance that any of you know of a CG person who would like to do some small effects (unpaid sadly but the film is going to be a major festival drawcard, of that I am certain) please direct them to my film site (see link in previous post) for more info.
Footage is HDV 1280x720x25p if that helps, square pixels.
Back to the editing pit that is my life right now...

Sorry for the lack of updates but have been quite busy these last few months, with both filmmaking and other things.
Latest news is that I have gotten a job in Japan starting next year so I will be moving there around January.
As far as Proxo goes, I still update my filters but haven't needed many updates besides ad URLs etc so I haven't bothered putting out a new set just for that. I will be putting one out shortly to fix the Google page styles as they have been broken again by a change in Google's layout code.
Don't forget to post your own filter fixes etc here and I will endeavour to include them in updated sets in the future. _________________ Get my current Proxomitron filters and Firefox CSS files here or here.
