First is http://www.softstack.com/freesmtp.html which is a simple and quick to install program. It offers little in the way of features but it will send your spam reports with no problems. |
I've been having problems with mi mail server NTLWorld submitting spam to SpamCop via MW and changing to Yahoo mail ran into other problems. Now I use Googlemail, but, recently have been getting Global SMTP errors when submitting spam, but, can send ordinary mails via them with OE. Seeing your suggestion I downloaded and installed Freesmtp mailer. Could you perhaps run through the configuration so that I can use it with MW for submitting spam to SC?
I've entered localhost as the SMTP server, but, what about the Advanced tab? At present in the Advanced tab I have my Googlemail Username and Password entered along with selecting Port 465 and checking "This server requires SSL" and "My SMTP server requires authentication" which is the protocol for Googlemail. Do I have to change anything here? _________________ ~ Rob

That is new, sort of takes it out of the running. I'd sugest you try the postcast one, that is what I was using until I switched ISPs. _________________ Questions? Try the wiki

Last time I looked at it there weren't however I'm on Cox Cable now and they block port 25 so I had to go to another ISP that offered an SMTP server on a high port to get my reports out.
The ArgoSoft server looks interesting, what error messages are you getting from it? What errors does MW show if you go to help-about and turn on logging?
Have you tried to telnet to it and send a message (telnet localhost 25) and looked at its replies? _________________ Questions? Try the wiki

I have been using MWP to report spam to Spamcop and configured it to report to Knujon as well.
CastleCops Link/postlite158764-knujon+hack+blue+frog.html
But recently my ISP is filtering these reports (outgoing) and blocking them as spam because the subject says "SPAM report". Is there a way to reconfigure the way MWP reports these to change the subject line?
Thanks!! _________________ Nadman
