Hi

Is it possible to view running processes with memory usage for each process (as one can in Windows XP, using Task Manager)?

Question

Hi EricG,

Try downloading Process Explorer (the download link is at the bottom of the page).

To see memory usage, run Process Explorer, right click a process and select Properties. On the Performance tab, you need the 'Working Set' figure in the Physical Memory section.

Hi

I need this information to help a colleague who has no computer knowledge - I shall not be seeing him until Tuesday.

I have tried it on my PC and, if it gives the same information on Me as XP it looks like it will be just what I needed.

Many thanks.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I've found it works well on Win98 and XP. Haven't got ME so I can't test that but I don't foresee any problems.

If you do have any questions then fire away when you are ready - we aren't going anywhere! Wink

Hi

I tried Process Explorer (on Windows Me) but the crucial information I need is not available for the Me OS. Pity, but thanks for the information anyway.

Try PrcView . This shows the info you want in XP, and I believe the same inrerface is used in ME.

You're welcome.

It would be great if you could let us know if it does the job in ME, as others may well find it useful.

Sorry - took awhile to get back to you. No, Process View doesn't give the memory usage on Windows Me.
