I akways liked 98, fewer problems with it though it's yesterday.
Dont know, may me it's just illusion but with 98 i got virus rather rare, twice for 3 years. Can it be that viruses prefer newer winds as they are wider spread?
And what antivirus programs would you recomend to protect PC?

just an illusion i'm afraid. If anything, as the old OS are not supported the exploits that exist are never plugged or protected by AV that don't even work on older OS
as for antivirus try AVG, AVIRA NOD32 etc.

AVG7.5works well with win 98se; just need (like all of them )to keep it fully updated 
what other protection do you have on it?
