Hi all....
I'm helping a neighbor with his Pentium II Dell system. He has Windows 98 first edition (the one with the satellite dish in the toolbar) and IE6 that has been AOLized. The problem he's having is any browser window that he might bring up after the first one comes up showing the top bar along with the three buttons and that's it. Nothing else. Normally when you size or resize a window (or at least a IE window,) Windows will keep it's size in its "memory" so the next time you bring up the window in a future session, it will retain the size.
Not so in his case, after I increase the size from the bar and get it to full screen, it will "remember" the size for that session only. If Internet Explorer is shut down, the memory is lost and next time it's brought up, it's the bar only again.
Beyond the normal settings, I don't know where else to look in this case. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this?
Thanks
Best Regards...

If you think AOL is the culprit, would it be worthwhile trying to uninstall the AOL ie6 and reinstalling the plain MS version?
I think there is a site, something like old versions.com where you can get various older versions of things including explorer.

Hi...
Honestly, I don't know if AOL is the culprit or not nor did I think of reinstalling IE6. I could give it a try although he's talking about upgrading to W2k.
Thanks
Best Regards...

Hi...
Well, I attempted both a repair and an uninstallation and reinstallation of IE6 but am still unsuccessful at getting this to work properly.
It might be that no one has an accurate "picture" of what I'm talking about so I've uploaded a screenshot. Hopefully, someone might know what to do.
Thanks!
Best Regards....
