I've been using MWP for years in the MS-world but would like to get it working effectively in Kubuntu Fiesty. It installs okay (and processes mail properly), but I cannot get it to give me an alert when it receives mail. If I go to "Tools" -> "Options", the option "Play sound when new mail arrives" is checked but grayed out. Although I can regularly check for mail with MWP, without a sound/alert notice, automatically checking mail every X minutes is useless. Is this a known problem or am I just "lucky"?
Thanks!

Well, I installed the package but (like you said) it didn't make a difference -- the option is still grayed out. But I found (what I believe is) the config file (options.wmp) and I found newMailSound="0" and playSoundOnNewMail="1" within the file. I changed the "newMailSound" to "1" and restarted. The box is still grayed out but it now says "blip".
The "options.mwp" file didn't have any path to a sound file on it. Any idea where I put that (and its syntax)?
Thanks again.

sorry but no, no idea on that, it'd be trial and error, and not sure if it would even help.
If that didnt work then it sounds like its a no go on your particular machine sorry....

Yeah, no go. I'm trying the windows version via Wine; it's nice having the "cleaner" interface back but I'd rather run natively. _________________ Ernie Grossmann

Yes, I think that Wine will be the way to go for the future, works well for me also...
