Pondering buying a d5000t from HP which comes with Vista home premium.
They make a bit of a deal about the upgradeability of this model, it has room for 3 x extra HD. So, I'm wondering if can add extra drives and create a RAID array down the track. My limited experience with XP tells me no. I can only do that when I install windows and then have to load the RAID drivers via a floppy.
Since this would be a pre-installed Vista, I'm not going to have a windows disk to perform a vista install if that was the only way to get RAID working.
Has anyone done this with an OEM vista install? Any other ideas?

Hi,
The same goes with Vista. You need to load up the RAID drivers when you install Vista. I haven't tried, but I guess it could work if you do a repair install.
You need to be sure that the controller you are purchasing has Vista-compatible drivers. _________________ IT Stuff

*but* you can make an install disc using the HP software - read up on it in the manual, if you've bought it, or else contact HP with the exact nature of what you want to do and make them provide you with the documentation before hand. _________________ <img src="http://www.castlecops.com/zx/johnlgalt/johnlgalt%20sig.png">
