Pretty much the winshow, winable, save, winantivirus 2007 freeinstall, webbuying all were gotten from ads on IE and I couldn't catch them all before they finished installing.

Here's a HJT Log:

Thanks!

I also do not plan to restart my computer until I know what to do as I don't want to deal with that whole mess of files again.

Ok obviously I didn't end all the processes as when I use the computer, it's still popping up auto downloading sites in a teeny tiny window in the corner of my monitor that try to download things like MalwareAlert 2007. I didn't see any ads after I left my computer on the entire night though.

For now I renamed IEXPLORE to AIEXPLORE as I don't need it anyway and hopefully that will stop the constant popups. There is also a process called pigvbeds.exe running under the user SYSTEM that I cannot find any information on. When I try to end it, it doesn't.

Ok I located the file pigvbeds.exe (which curiously doesn't show up in HJT v1.9.1, only this new version) and it was created Sunday, September 30, 2007, 12:16:53 PM basically the exact time these problems started as well as it being the only unrecognized process running. I am going to delete it when restarting in save mode.

I also am going to delete these as I can restore them later and it seems pretty obvious to me that I would be better off without them:

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:

    Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop
    Close any open browsers.
    Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
    When it's finished it will produce a log.
    Post the contents of the C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
    Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running.
    That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

At first, I kept clicking Save Link As... and nothing would show up and then I clicked the link and the download window would pop up but when I would press Save File and Ok, nothing else would show up. Finally, I chose to download it through the Firefox plugin DownThemAll! and it worked fine.

When I tried to run ComboFix, it popped up

The COMSPEC environment variable was found to be corrupt.
ComboFix has attempted repairs & will need to restart.

When I clicked Ok, after a few seconds it would pop up again.

Also, I got rid of pigvbeds.exe in safe mode before you replied.

Here's a fresh HJT log.

I need to check on something with the developer. However in the mean time see if you can Reboot into Safe Mode and run Combofix.

Reply with the results please

Safe mode worked!
After it restarted though, it restarted into normal mode and while it said Preparing log file please don't run any programs until ComboFix finishes, all the programs that normally run on start started so hopefully that doesn't affect anything.

Also, all my settings seem to have changed (ie. Firefox was no longer my default browser, McAfee popped up about making it the default something, etc.

Here's the log:

The items reset are probably back to default. Once we are done cleaning you can reset your preferences

1. Open NotePad (not wordpad). Copy and paste the following into Notepad

Code:
File::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssqqomn.dll

Folder::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\zip1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\vMW10a
C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbs9
C:\WINDOWS\system32\driv2

Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer]
"AllowLegacyWebView"=-
"AllowUnhashedWebView"=-
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify\ssqqomn]

Save the File as CFScript(exactly as shown no spaces) ->> Save it to your Desktop

Using the Image as a reference, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
image

    You will be prompted to run Combofix again, Do so
    Following the same rules as indicated in my first post
    Then post the contents of the C:\ComboFix.txt log in your reply

This time, I did not have to go to Safe Mode to run ComboFix. I'm guessing the infection blocked ComboFix from working?

Here is the ComboFix log:
