It's true that it takes a lot of memory and usually I don't tell victims of malware, if they don't have a firewall, to install ZoneAlarm because they may have a computer with only 256 or 512 MB.

Hoov, the moderator of this forum, is this weekend away but he will come back tomorrow or the day after tomorrow and maybe he can give you some tips and tricks to help you increase the speed of your pc by changing settings in ZA.

What is a better AIO suite that is recommended which does not use so much resources.
I have tried Comodo firewall, it is v.good, but it is not AIO.
will wait for your recommendation.

I also noticed the memory hogging, it's not a problem for my laptop but I have noticed a difference.
Is it possible to uninstall the AV/spyware active scanners (2xScanningProcess.exe) without disabling the whole ZoneLabs Suite ?

or

Can I simply disable that portion of the Suite in order to use other software for that purpose or do I have to uninstall entire Suite?

TIA

Sam

Cayenne, and anyone else that is having problems with the startup process, please start another thread of your own. This way we can spend time with just your personal problem with the startup without someone else trying to get help in the same thread. Although you are all having the same problem (slow startup), each of you may have separate problems that have nothing to do with someone else's problem.

Hi,

my laptop is much slower after installing the latest version of zonealarm.

Even the shutdown takes lot of time. Is it also because of zonealarm???

My computer has been slow since I updated and I'm very unhappy too. I just checked and the two scanning processes between them are using 40% of my CPU time. No wonder everything is slow.

I have been happily using the ZA Suite for several years and when I renewed this year, I moved to the 7 version. I cannot BELIEVE how it slows down my system. Booting takes forever, and closing down takes even longer. If I don't get satisfactory replies from ZoneAlarm, I am going to look elsewhere. I consider this just an awful digression on their part.

I am locking this thread, it is going no place.

If you are having problems, start a new thread, that is the only way I can help you with your personal problem. There may be no solution, but I will try.

It Turns out that the culprit is the on-access av scanner.

Turn off the av, get another program like avg for that, or windows defender for on access spyware
