Hi Gesundheit
As you will see I've today posted a request for any help on the forum for hangover problem from my install of V. 462. What I didn't do was go into detail because after the original install a lot of other programmes crashed or hung.
More worryingly, after installation, it wouldn't allow me to run restore (which I finally managed to do from a safemode command prompt). My DVD writer (which I used seconds before to back up files) won't burn anymore and my earlier version (337) was corrupted on restore.
I've spent days since December trying to isolate and solve the problem. I'm a Public Affairs consultant, not a computer engineer yet ZA don't seem to be concerned that half my time has been on solving problems that are begining to look more and more a glitch in their software.
It is true 2 out of our 3 PCs downloaded ZAISS without a problem, but on the other hand it could suggest that 33.3% of all PCs are at risk from this update!!! _________________ Thanks & regards

I was considering using ZA as I have used it in the past, but when I came to Bulgaria my ISP said it was causing problems with my internet connection so they removed it. I was going to risk it again, already downloaded to desktop but not installed, and have decided to give it a miss now as I could not sort out any problems that might occur, so this forum was of great help to myself. I don't think it smears ZA's reputation just warns people to think twice if they can't handle any problems. I am not happy just using XP's own firewall, but don't know any other good alternatives. Thanks for the advice.

but that would mean that many reports, and based on ZA user base that would mean a lot, of the problems you reported. We would have all heard by now if the update was that bad.

You are not being inconsistent. You are not going to use ZA because a few people have problems (which is what forums are for, asking help about problems) but you are going to continue to use a Microsoft OS.
I doubt if there is a single piece of software out there that can be run by everyone with no problem whatsoever. Try ZA, if it doesn't work, it can always be removed. _________________ For ZoneAlarm help http://www.donhoover.net
