Thanks, Brendan, but I'm still unsure about one thing:
Where does the PORTAL MAILBOX (Account) reside?
If, as KLEVA's post suggests, I create the following mailboxes - on MY mail server:
joe (at) my-mail-server.tld (spam-sink)
fred (at) my-mail-server.tld (spam-sink)
louis (at) my-mail-server.tld (spam-sink)
portal (at) my-mail-server.tld
... and the following rules, also on MY mail server:
All mail to joe auto-forwards to portal
All mail to fred auto-forwards to portal
All mail to louis auto-forwards to portal
... doesn't that just leave all the mail sitting in mailbox portal (at) my-mail-server.tld?
Doesn't portal (at) my-mail-server.tld need to auto-forward somewhere also? And if so, where?

Thanks Eggy.
To avoid confusion and misinterpretation, it's probably best to not try interpreting previous posts and just remember that the portal address is simply a sort of FirstAlert! Emailing address that you don't need to set up on your server or do anything with - other than existing to collect all forwarded mail from all your spam-sink addresses of-course. Once your portal address is registered on the member database, then this simply identifies a valid member gateway to FirstAlert! for the reporting of spam (applicable to the assigned portal URL).
Therefore, in your previous example, you would only be required to do the following...
joe (at) my-mail-server.tld - forwards everything to <portal>@<assigned portal address>
fred (at) my-mail-server.tld - forwards everything to <portal>@<assigned portal address>
louis (at) my-mail-server.tld - forwards everything to <portal>@<assigned portal address>
...and that's it.
There is no actual requirement for any form of additional account as - portal (at) my-mail-server.tld (or indeed anyname (at) my-mail-server.tld), unless you actually wanted to review spam from your spam-sinks and allow those single-pixel images to effectively report to the spammer that the spam-sink was read, or to perpetuate spam-sink harvesting by "unsubscribing" to spam received on spam-sink accounts (etc). However, this is only something that some of the more proactive members choose to do though, as I say, is not actually required.
Please let me know if you require further clarification (though I'm confident that you will let me know ).

Thanks again, Brendan.
Just wanted to make sure I knew what I was thinking about getting into.

Aaaaahhhhhh.....
So the Portal address is one that you assign and give (somehow I missed that ) - I know the base name (before the @ sign) is assigned by me as my login name, but the domain needs to be sent by SpamForce.
Now I didn't get those details in the email I received, so brendan I will have to contact you for that.
So in the end the correct method is:
1. Sign up at the SpamForce Project with a user name like hbFdt572gS5sF
2. On Mailserver, set up spamsink addresses like bob@my-domain-name.snt and fred@my-domain-name.snt, and foward all the mail to hbFdt572gS5sF@SPAMFORCE-DOMAIN
4. Use the methods previously descibed by Brendan to have spam sent to these addresses.
Ta-Da.... Man it's so simple when you understand

Brendan
I suggest that you make the previous information from myself and make a sticky, since I had four different people look at the instructions and all came up with a different interpretation.
For the umm's and the huh's and generally "not getting the picture" people out there who do consider themselves reasonably web literate, some of us do need a basic instruction.... he he

Hi Kleva
Many thanks for that.
It's always so difficult trying to spell things out from the inside looking out, and you only get to see the other perspective when others provide feedback such as yourself.
I am currently working on a step-by-step instruction sheet and I'll post the body content on a sticky. If it's sufficiently clear then I'll provide the resulting content on-site, though if there's room for misinterpretation then at-least I can edit the sticky first to the collective satisfaction.
With the support of yourself and others we'll get there in the end
Again, many thanks for your help and understanding.

As a general observation, it would be great if more folks asked questions in this forum if they don't fully understand the SpamForce concept. User forums are a great way to share info without the primary stakeholder (in this case Brendan) having to respond.
