Hi XxMayhemxX,
Your logs appear all clean.
Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
Updating Java:
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.0.
Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u6 allows end-users to run Java applications".
Click the "Download" button to the right.
Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.
Next we remove all used tools.
Please download OTMoveIt and save it to desktop.
- Double-click OTMoveIt.exe.
- Click the CleanUp! button.
- Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
- If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
- The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.
Note: If you receive a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTMoveIt attempting to contact the internet, please allow it to do so.
This is a good time to clear your existing system restore points and establish a new clean restore point:
- Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
- Select Create a restore point, and Ok it.
- Next, go to Start > Run and type in cleanmgr
- Select drive will open. Click OK
- Either a scan will open up and take a few minutes or it will go directly to Disk Cleanup for ...
- Select the More options tab
- Find System Restore. Click Clean up
Set correct settings for files that should be hidden in Windows XP
- Click Start > My Computer > Tools menu (at top of page) > Folder Options > View tab.
- Under "Hidden files and folders" if necessary select Do not show hidden files and folders.
- If unchecked please checkHide protected operating system files (Recommended)
- If necessary check "Display content of system folders"
- If necessary Uncheck Hide file extensions for known file types.
- Click OK
- Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
- Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.
- Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware
- Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.
Here are some additional utilities that will enhance your safety
- MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
- Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
- Comodo BOCLEAN <= Stop identity thieves from getting personal information. Instantly detects well over 1,000,000 unique, variant and repack malware in total. And it's free.
- Winpatrol <= Download and install the free version of Winpatrol. a tutorial for this product is located here:
Using Winpatrol to protect your computer from malicious software
Stand Up and Be Counted ---> Malware Complaints <--- where you can make difference!
The site offers people who have been (or are) victims of malware the opportunity to document their story and, in that way, launch a complaint against the malware and the makers of the malware.
Also, please read this great article by Tony Klein So How Did I Get Infected In First Place
Also visit this page to read up on prevention:

Happy surfing and stay clean!

I wil follow on those steps tonight...
In the mean time...
Yesterday in task manager dw20.exe
and ive never seen it in there before.. so i closed it.
And now today i saw DWTRIG20.EXE
I printed something off last night, and now i cant get my printer power button to work.. printer wont turn off. It normally turns on and off all the time normally.
Sometimes when i use Comodo to block my internet access for a long period of time... my connection will stop.. I then set Comodo back to custom...and i still have to repair my connection.. Weird.. Is this normal?
Earlier today i had a msg box stay on my screen and it wouldnt disappear and i couldn't press cancel. The box said...
Windows could not repair internet connection. I have since rebooted the computer.. and successfully repaired the connection.. no msg box and no DWTRIG20.EXE
What does all of this mean? is it ok?
Step 1: Is this the right java download? there are alot...
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6
The Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications.
After i click on it.. it says Platform Windows? or Windows 64?

Both of those files are legitimate. Some more info on those files:
dw20.exe
DWTRIG20.EXE
You'll notice this at the page for dw20.exe:
| Quote: | | dw20.exe is the Application Error Reporting client included with Microsoft Office 2003, a tool that collects information automatically whenever an Office application crashes and allows users to send a report directly to Microsoft. Microsoft uses the data to address problems and enhance future versions of the applications. |
Which makes sense why you would see these around the same time you have network issues that a reboot would fix.
Regarding your printer, that sounds like a hardware issue that I am unsure of as to why it would happen.
Regarding the Comodo issue, you might want to try to ask about that in the Firewalls forum here: /f2-Firewalls.html
Regarding the Java download...
Yes, that is the correct version to download. The Platform you are looking for should be Windows, not the x64 version.
Let me know if you have any other questions/issues.
Thanks,
