If you ever have need to enable any of these, it is a simple matter to go back to filters.txt, change back to enable, and add the necessary code or E-mail address. |
Or use the filter GUI that comes with MWP to check or uncheck the filter in question or otherwise make edit changes.

Actually MWP has to be closed before saving filter.txt otherwise the changes are overwritten when MWP is closed.
BTW, with version 3.1, if changes are made using the GUI, those changes are now written to filters.txt (or blacklist.txt) immediately. Even so, MWP must keep a live copy of these files 'cause they're overwritten when MWP closes.

Ike and Bill- thanks. I have not done my Filters up-date yet, so was able to take note of Ike's comment.

I am about to print Gary's advice and study it, but while I am thinking about it could some kind person tell me in the VERY simplest terms how to configure MWP so that it will automatically bounce everything on the BlackList ?
Thank you ! _________________ paieye

You then have two choices under 'Perform the action:', either 'On "Process Mail"' or 'Automatically'. If you are set on bouncing everything in your blacklist I would personally choose 'On "Process Mail"'. |
I have not in my version of MWP got any of the fields -- Spam Tools, My blacklist, &c. -- that you mention, or indeed any resembling them. Have I missed something ?

What version number are you using? Go to Help>>About to find out if you aren't sure.

My apology ! An up-date was a little overdue, and I have now carried out the steps suggested.
Many thanks to all that have helped. _________________ paieye
