Author: idkanymoreLocation: USA PostPosted: Mon Oct 06, 2008 10:02 pm    Post subject: Possible keylogger/virus. Need help. Hijackthis log included

Hello, I recently went to a website from a message board link that is supposed to contain a keylogger and/or virus. I wont post the link to the website unless you ask. I haven't noticed any weird behavior on my computer and I have done a complete scan with Kaspersky and ad aware and nothing came up except for some privacy kinda stuff in ad aware thats usual. (like cookies and mru).
Im still nervous so im posting this log to see if you can find anything. I greatly appreciate your help Smile This thing is very stressful. Definitely going to donate to help you guys once this is done for being so great. I've check out the other threads with your guys help Smile I will be checking my thread often for your reply.

I went ahead and did a couple of suggestions I found in a few of your [DONE] and [PROGRESS] threads to try and speed up the process for when someone does get to me. Below I listed 2 replies with a hijackthis and combofix log. I did a eset.com antivirus check aswell as install malwarebytes antimalware program and do a scan.

Please let me know what else you need.

Hello idkanymore

Welcome to CC!

Well, tell me how your computer seems to be running. Also, you said you installed Malwarebytes...did you run it? If so, can you show me the log that it produced?

The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a new HTJ log.

My computer seems to be running fine now. I haven't noticed any abnormal behavior. But im not sure if that means I don't have a virus/trojan or not. i was wondering if it was possible to see if I had any infection by looking at the hijackthis logs as well as the other logs. The malwarebytes caught 4 things. Are the things it caught supposed to be very dangerous? The log follows.

Malwarebytes log
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.28

The things found by MBAM are not too bad. I am questioning one file that it flagged and I will get back to you on it.

Run HJT again and check this item and then on Fix:

O2 - BHO: CitiUSBrowserHelper Class - {387EDF53-1CF2-4523-BC2F-13462651BE8C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\BhoCitUS.dll (file missing)

Post me a new HJT log. By then I should know about that file I am questioning.

I was looking at a different file to make sure it was not a false positive but my eyes played tricks. The file was bad and was deleted apporpriately.

If everything is running fine, things look fine on this end. If there is something still not right, let me know. I see no reason to dig any deeper if things run ok.
