OH MY GOD! Shocked

FOUR hours and THIRTY minutes and I quit on port 20,000.
I think the disclaimer needs some updating Paul. Laughing

You must be stealth? I updated the disclaimer a few hours ago.. I think it was after you started then.. if stealth, it can go on for more than 10 hours. But hey, you were more than half-way there! There were only 34 more ports after that. If you want it to roll faster, just unstealth for the scan only, and it'll be done in about 20 mns. Once done, go back to stealth. Wink

Yeah. I caught onto that caveat once the BBR thread began to grow.
Oh well. It gave me a chance to watch 'Brother Where Art Thou' again. Wink
I know your working hard on this site. I'd like to make a couple of suggestions.
You've got a couple of really nice 'hooks' at the site now. Namely Scott Lemmon and the Tool kit.
I think they both need more emphasis on the front page.
Scott for obvious reasons! But the tool kit will create more action in your forums.
Just my two bits.
Keep moving forward ZX. Things are starting to come together around here.

Just for my two cent's worth, I would totally agree. OK, call me a "dittohead" if you must, but Jabba's thoughts reflect mine as well.

Great ideas... now can you suggest how I make them more visible?

Bigger isn't always better but some times is. Perhaps making the lettering in <b>bold</b> might help... Since I have no idea of how to set up a site, I don't know what is and isn't possible but it seems to me that that would be and would certainly call more attention to the tests.

Ok! ... that sounds like a great idea, I have to edit the CSS template for that.

Ummm....

We can always have an occassion "Blinking Popup Banner".... Embarassed

Or one of them Flash ads, like a little Proxoman being chased by the "Toolkit" or suttin?.... Cool

For instance.
If you scroll down the main page you will find the full infomation about the tool kit, or at least it was there yesterday.
That should be, IMHO, at the top of the page with an eye catching header like; 'Put Your Security to the CCSP Test' or 'Think Your Secure?' and then the continuation of that hook would be 'Share Your Results When Your Done' (Forum Link)
Think of your main page as a lure that'll get folks into the forums.
The informative bent to the front page is fine for a more informed/intelligent computer user. But most people want to challenge their security set-up.
Look at the buzz created at BBR when PC Flank posts a new set of Firewall testing results, and the tools they used to get those results.

Eric Howes http://www.staff.uiuc.edu/~ehowes/trojans/tr-tests.htm would also be a good person to have in your corner. He does a very thorough job with those tests and probably wouldn't mind having you link to his page.
