Hi,
I just want to make sure that I am submitting my spams correctly to Knujon.
What I do is I will either save them out of my e-mail client as *.eml files or TXT files (one of my e-mail providers gives me POP access, but doesn't download the spam folder, and can't do that as well, so I have to manually cut-n-paste the source HTML to do e-mail reporting), and then zip the files up without a password or encryption, with my user ID for the file name.
Is that ok, or should I leave the files unzipped when I e-mail them to the reporting address?

Whichever is easier for you. If zipping means an extra step for you, then leave them unzipped. eml or txt is fine, the same things goes. If saving as txt is an extra step, leave them as eml.

Thanks.
I have had trouble with my ISP blocking some of my reports when it trips their spamminess filter, so I zip it up to avoid that happening again, even though I got it cleared up by explaining that "no, I'm not really a spammer, I'm just trying to report spam to a service".

That's irony of the situation. The spammers can get to you, but you cant report it after you've got it!

Hi Knujon,
I have a similar problem. My Email provider checks my pishing email that I want to send and blocks it.
Especially pishing mails from "Volksbank", "Raiffeisenbank" and "Sparkasse" (popular German banks) are blocked. Zippped files are also scanned. Basically a good idea, but bad, if I want to report that stuff. Now here are my questions:
* Are you interested in German pishing mails at all ?
* Is it possible to save the pishing mails (Thunderbird) and zip all the files using a password e.g. "knujon" to get around the email scanner of my (and maybe other) email provider?
Thanks
Oliver

Ja, in any language.

I think this would be best for our FTP method. You should receive instructions in your weekly report.

Alternatively you can use a local SMTP server. That way you can completely bypass your ISP and send whatever you want.
This one is very small (and it doesn't even have to be installed, all files are in the program folder).
mini-Relay: http://www.netvicious.com/
(Unlike the website the program is in English)

It seems your zipped submissions are nested 4 or 5 levels deep in subfolders. It would be a little easier if were just one or two. Thanks!

I'm using mutt to forward spams (using forward_decode=no so including headers as well). I imagine you can separate into individual emails okay?

Text-based mail agent... http://www.mutt.org/
Though essentially I mean that the messages are being pooled together in the one body though with full headers.
