i am often getting the message back no data/too much data when I send a spam report. I have read the old posts thru spamcop website but they aren't much help as they don't seem to relate to MW. Can anyone tell what I can do if I get this message. I'm not sure how much of the spam that is shown to cut and paste to try again or reduce the size of the email to report.

The "no data/too much data" message is almost as old as SC itself. It has several meanings

  1. the message is indeed too large (more than 50KB [or 500KB?])
  2. the message is empty (kind of)
  3. SpamCop tripped over a Unicode character
  4. SpamCop tripped over other multi-byte characters
  5. SpamCop tripped over its own foot
  6. something else happened

If you are sure that the message is not too large (and not empty), try the browser's Refresh button (F5); changes are that SC will not trip again, and display a result.

The same is often true when you see a complaint generated for nomaster@devnull.spamcop.net; hit F5, and it may (or may not) return a correct reporting address after the retry.
