ZoneLabs Zone Alarm

My Score:

I''ve used Free ZoneAlarm for over four years now. The only paid-for firewall I have used was Norton''s Personal Firewall 2000. Although it is not recommended, on Win 98 I used to run both firewalls together. ZoneAlarm was quicker with incoming stuff and Norton''s was quicker with outgoing. It is not something I dare do anymore. Some security professionals say that it is only a matter of time before there''s a major conflict.
Once you get the hang of what needs to be done, ZoneAlarm is fairly user-friendly. If it pops up for no particular reason, it is most likely something that you need to look into! This past summer it blocked numerous port scans from worms trying to gain entrance to my machines.
I highly recommend ZoneAlarm. It is still running on one of my machines.
